Margaret Rice

Margaret M. Rice is an associate lawyer at Brisebois Law Office. She completed her B.A. (Honours) at the University of Windsor in 2022 and in June 2025 she graduated from the Dual J.D. Program earning both a Canadian J.D. from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law and a U.S. J.D. from the Detroit Mercy School of Law.

Throughout her studies, Ms. Rice is a committed advocate for her community, she organized the Celebration of Nations event at the University of Windsor in 2022 and 2023. She was also an active member of the Women’s Empowerment and Justice Association and served as the dual class secretary for the Student Bar Association at Detroit Mercy. During her 1L year, she earned distinction at the Detroit Mercy School of Law Moot Competition.

Ms. Rice began her legal career with a focus on criminal law, gaining valuable experience as a law student at a criminal defence firm. Although her career path has since evolved, this experience honed her skills in research, oral advocacy, client relations, and litigation preparation. In 2024, Margaret participated in the Environmental Law Firm Practice Program at Detroit Mercy, where she deepened her understanding of global and social issues through cross-border work. She also completed the Arts & Entertainment Clinic, handling copyright claims and providing client advocacy. In 2025, Ms. Rice volunteered at the Community Legal Aid Clinic at the University of Windsor, continuing her commitment to serving the Windsor community.

Outside of her legal pursuits, Ms. Rice is an avid sports fan, rooting for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Pistons during the NHL and NBA seasons. She is also a Formula 1 enthusiast and enjoys staying active by going to the gym, taking walks, and watching movies.
